Citizen's Academy - Fall 2022 was in full swing Wednesday! What an amazing start we had and with another great group of citizen's in attendance! The evening began with Sheriff Bruce Zuchowski addressing the class, followed by Major Larry Limbert, Deputy Danny Burns, and Chaplain Bob Burgess. Deputy Burns discussed and explained the important role the Sheriff's office plays in the Portage County Courthouse system, the jail transport process, and even brought the transport van for all to see. Chaplain Bob Burgess explained his volunteer Chaplain position along with his past career in law enforcement, and even gave hands on demonstrations (fyi: no one was injured in the use of a fake gun and rubber knife). Very informative first night and looking forward to next Wednesday's class. As always, we thank Sheriff Bruce Zuchowski for desiring to be transparent with the citizens of Portage County and offering the Citizen's Academy!
